Para o estudo, publicado no “British Medical Journal”, foram ouvidos mais de 12 mil moradores da França, com idades entre 18 e 69 anos.Os entrevistados foram divididos em três grupos: com peso normal (índice de massa corporal entre 18,5 e 25), sobrepeso (entre 25 e 30) e obesos (acima de 30). Os resultados mostraram também uma relação inversa entre peso e número de parceiros, nos dois gêneros. Entre as obesas, 17,8% acharam seu par pela internet; para os homens acima do peso, a taxa foi de 14%. Outro dado preocupante diz respeito às relações sexuais sem proteção. Entre obesos com 18 a 29 anos, foi observada uma taxa de doenças transmissíveis por sexo cinco vezes maior, embora eles tenham tido menos parceiras que os de peso normal.

O desejo também está em baixa nesse grupo: duas vezes mais obesos relataram desinteresse. Entre os homens com alguns quilos a mais, a queixa foi 25% maior do que entre os de peso normal.

LIMITAÇÕES

Embora revele aspectos comportamentais importantes, o estudo tem limitações. Entre os participantes, os obesos formam um grupo menor, mais velho, com menos estudo e mais risco de doenças em comparação aos demais.
